One of the signature tragedies of the great Spanish poet Federico García Lorca, Blood Wedding has been a staple of theaters across the Spanish-speaking world for many generations now. In this crucial scene, two accomplished actresses, Nefesh Cordero Pino and Adriana Lea Plaza Lea Plaza to life a moment full of mystery and dramatic power in which nature, the moon, and death lead the protagonists toward their tragic fate. The forest symbolizes desire and inevitability in a poetic, tense atmosphere that culminates in the final duel to the death.

Adriana Lea Plaza
A creative writer, an accomplished, versatile actress with credits across the full range of genres from the classics to experimentalist works. and an award-winining director. She holds an M.F.A. in Creative Writing in Spanish from Tisch School of the Arts, is a graduate of the British American Drama Academy at Oxford University and has a Certificate in Directing Actors from the Sundance Institute. In 2019 she was awarded the “Intervenciones Urbanas” programmme from the Ministry of Development Planning in her native Bolivia.
Nefesh Cordero Pino
Nefesh Cordero Pino, a native of Puerto Rico, is an accomplished artist. She attended the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras, where she double-majored in Theater and Public Relations. She further pursued her passion for acting by obtaining an M.F.A from Yale School of Drama. Nefesh is deeply immersed in art, dance, collaborative projects, and poetry. Notably, she made a guest appearance in the final season of NBC's New Amsterdam. Her diverse repertoire includes outstanding performances in productions such as Manning by Benjamin Benn, You Will Get Sick by Noah Diaz, Blood Wedding, Bakkhai, Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, The Maids, and Hand to God.
Tomás Modesto Galán
Dominican writer and cultural activist who has lived in New York since 1986. His Amor en bicicleta y otros poemas won first prize in the 2014 Letras de Ultramar Literary Contest sponsored by Comisionado Dominicano de Cultura en USA. In 2008, he published Subway: Vida subterránea y otras confesiones, a collection of poetry. His novel Los cuentos de Mount Hope was published in 1995. In 2015 he was awarded Poet of the Year by the Americas Poetry Festival of New York. He was President of the Dominican Writers Association in USA, a member of the Bronx Hispanic Festival of New York and is an adjunct lecturer at The City University of New York (CUNY) since 1986.

Winston Marcell, Vocalist
A prominent soloist with a long, wide-ranging career sharing the stage with luminaries such as Héctor Lavoe, Johnny Ventura, José José, Oscar de León and Juan Gabriel, in top clubs like Copacabana, Casa Borinquen, Red Parrot, Palladium, El Volcán and Studio 54 in the 80’s and 90s. He had his own band for a time, and has played with countless others. Born Winston de Jesús Almonte to a humble family in Santiago de los Caballeros (Cibao region), first capital of the Dominican Republic and cradle to most of that country’s Presidents. He started singing as a child with his uncles, all musicians and radio broadcasters. His brother Richard Marcell is one of his homeland’s most prominent arrangers. He has lived in Castellón de la Plana, Spain, where he sang opera at Teatro de Bellas Artes, and later on in Madrid. His repertory includes salsa, boleros, ballads and romantic songs. He also plays the guitar. His stage name is a tribute to his father, Marcelino de Jesús Almonte.
