Bronx World Film Cycle, Summer 2025: Pioneering Arthouse Film Programme Returns to Bronx Communities with a Marquée of Local and International Works

Bronx, New York. July 20, 2025. – As summer draws to a close Bronx communities can enjoy a marqueé of contemporary arthouse films by filmmakers of color, women and youth both local and international when Bronx World Film Cycle, Summer 2025, the borough’s pioneer “roving cinémathéque,” comes to various venues from August 26th through Labor Day, September 1st. Modeled on the organization’s flagship Winter Cycle held in Manhattan since its founding in 2011, the Summer Cycle launched in The Bronx in 2017, and has made it a signature of its programming to bring culturally relevant films to the borough’s diverse enclaves, filling a critical void in cultural services and arts venues for almost 1.5 million Bronxites. Bronx World Film Cycle, Summer 2025 offers a programme of 18 films by 15 directors from 12 countries, and looks forward to welcoming audiences from throughout the borough.
